The clues start cryptic and grow more obvious, but so does the pressure as the candles go out one by one. Can you survive, or will you face execution at dawn?
The Executioner is a free daily metal band guessing game. A mystery band is revealed through five clues — shown one at a time. Each wrong guess extinguishes a candle and reveals the next clue. Name the band before all five candles go out, or face execution at dawn. A new band drops every midnight.
The first clue is shown automatically for free. Type a band name into the search box — autocomplete will suggest matching bands — then press Accuse. A correct guess means you survive. A wrong guess extinguishes a candle and reveals the next clue. Five wrong guesses and the game ends.
Your rank depends on how many wrong guesses you needed. Get it on the first clue and you earn True Metal Lord 🤘. Use all five clues and just survive to earn Barely Survived. Fail to name the band at all and you are Executed at Dawn ☠. The fewer wrong guesses, the better your rank.
