Pantera
Pantera are one of the most important heavy metal bands of all time. Formed in Arlington, Texas, they helped define groove metal with huge riffs, aggressive vocals and a relentless sound that shaped heavy music in the 1990s.
About Pantera
Pantera began in Texas in the early 1980s, but the band’s most famous era really took shape when Phil Anselmo joined and they shifted into a far heavier sound. Albums like Cowboys from Hell, Vulgar Display of Power and Far Beyond Driven turned them into one of the biggest metal bands in the world.
With Dimebag Darrell’s iconic guitar playing, Vinnie Paul’s huge drumming, Rex Brown’s groove-heavy bass lines and Phil Anselmo’s vocals, Pantera created a sound that influenced generations of metal bands.
